Laced with feedback and noise, MANATEES' sound is far darker and bleaker than their previous release 'We Are Going To Track Down And Kill Vintage Claytahh, The Beard Burning Bastard', a recording that saw them collaborate with Oxbow front man Eugene Robinson. Yet, on 'Icarus...' Manatees perfectly display their ability to mix crushing heaviness with sublime introspective ambience. "...within the deafening blitzkrieg is a subtlety and care that makes them anything but a blunt instrument" NME
MT. Mt. was formed from the rubble of ctrlaltdelete by Ben Maxwell, Laura Harrison and Robert Holmkvist, but, like all geological formations, the band have an ever changing appearance. Stirring passages of instrumental rock music that rarely relies solely on the standard quiet-loud-quiet template. Drowned In Sound Sometimes there's barely a whisper, sometimes it's a dreamy pop sound and sometimes it's like all the darkness in the world just descended on your stereo... New Noise
OVER THE WALL are Gav Prentice of old steel town Bathgate and Ben Hillman of old seaside town Bridlington, who met in Glasgow in 2002 and have been inflicting their relationship on others through the medium of euphoric pop music using keyboards, laptop beats, guitars, mandolins, trumpets, cowbells, harmonicas, hurdy gurdys and kazoos since 2006. In 2007 they were selected from 1200 unsigned entrants to play at T in the Park's 'T Break' stage and in 2008 from 800 entrants to play at The End of The Road Festival in Dorset. This year, on 17th November, also marks the release of their debut E.P. 'The Rise and Fall of Over The Wall' on Motive Sounds Records and some recognition from the likes of Radio 1, 6Music, Xfm, Radio Yorkshire and best of all Sunny Govan.
