Arnaud Guichard meets Mark Lockheart is a project inspired by a series of recordings of the late 1950’s - 'Gerry Mulligan Meets The Sax Giants’. For those recordings Gerry Mulligan invited well known American saxophonists Ben Webster, Johnny Hodges, Paul Desmond and Stan Getz to record original material and jazz standards.

Arnaud follows the same principle and invites well known saxophonists of the British jazz scene to perform original material and jazz standards. For this first edition Arnaud invites one of the most original voices of the British jazz scene - saxophonist Mark Lockheart.

Mark has performed with artists such as Django Bates, Norma Winstone, Kenny Wheeler, Anja Garbarek, Polar Bear and Radiohead but is most of all an amazing contemporary composer and arranger whose work has been well received all over Europe and in the US.
In 2016 Mark was awarded Jazz FM instrumentalist of the year and was also nominated for British composer of the year.

Since arriving in London in 2013 Arnaud performed with artists such as Zoe Rahman, Simon Purcell, Mick Foster, Dave Wickins, Moses Boyd and Dele Sosimi. His most recent project ‘Serendip’ released its first album ’The Tale' in May 2018 which was widely acclaimed.

Arnaud and Mark will be joined by well know young musicians Corrie Dick on drums, Mikele Montolli on double bass and Will Barry on piano.
