Event information

Superb and powerful music by Lili Boulanger - the French prodigy, who died so tragically young. Followed by the fiery and technically brilliant Russian violin concerto by Glazunov. The concert concludes with one of the greatest symphonies of the 20th century - Vaughan Williams Symphony No.6. Written during the Second World War it contains some of Vaughan Williams most brutal music, plus some of his softest and strangest. A truly great and unforgettable piece of music! Is it a symphony about the war? A short talk beforehand will investigate ...
