To introduce the Opening night of Folklahoma, two supreme beacons of folk. Louis Killen hailing from Newcastle is the grand master, grandfather and veritable god of the art-form and has been for almost 50 years releasing his first LP in 1961. He simply spellbinds listeners with a voice and musicianship that transports you from whaling boats to lone prairies back to the streets of his native town. Louis is surely the singer’s singer, not often performing in London, this promises to be a rare treat. Krauss’ songs whisper a darker more avant-garde dialect of mystery and intrigue, a unique visionary with subtle power.
