As a solo artist former Million Dead frontman Turner has changed his tone, shifting from his punk hardcore origins to produce beautifully composed, enchanting, yet edgy folk music. His work is elegant and sonorous while retaining the venom and intense dynamism of punk. Turner was frantically touring to much acclaim last year, including supporting Levellers on their UK tour in December, to promote his album Love, Ire and Song. His single ‘Long Live the Queen’ from the album was playlisted on BBC Radio 1. 2009 is set to be a big year for Frank with tours in Europe, the US, festival appearances and a new album - due out in October.
