The Countryside in May is about celebrating the coming of spring in poetry. It's not just the poetry of Hardy and Barnes, but includes substantial readings from, among others, Seamus Heaney, John Clare, Walt Whitman, Llewelyn Powys, Gerald Manley Hopkins, and Shakespeare.
The programme is split into subjects, from welcoming spring, via people / plant life / creatures and being out and about in the countryside.
Colin Thompson will accompany some of the readings on violin.
