Singer and song writer Rowan Godel has been described as an “underground folk superstar” and is one of British folk music's best kept secrets. Having worked extensively with some of the biggest names in folk today - Oysterband, Levellers, John Jones and Ray Cooper - she makes a first ever visit to Ripon she will be a accompanied by Tim Cotterell (fiddle & mandola) and Benji Kirkpatrick (bouzouki, banjo and guitar).
A versatile and dynamic singer and writer with an original style and a love of vocal harmony and musical arrangement, Rowan has worked with many different artists and genres of music and performance , rangingfrom folk to jazz to choral and even electronic dance music -writing and recording with music collective“Urban Myth Club” for their album “Helium”.
Throughout her career, Rowan has always remained connected to her roots and her love of folk music and in2015, she released her debut solo e.p “September Skies” -which, along with three of her own songs, featuresrefreshing and delightful takes on two traditional songs.

Rowan is currently working on her debut album and will be debuting some of the new material.
The RAOS Hall lounge bar will be open at 7.00pm, of course serving Roosters draught ale and bottled beers a selection of lagers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
The concert hall will open at 7.300pm, music starts at about 8.00pm
