Featuring Kadialy Kouyate
Mishka Adams’ monthly residency at the Vortex continues! Senegalese
Kora virtuoso/singer Kadialy Kouyate leads an acoustic quartet – Fred
Thomas (d/bass), Lucy Railton (cello), and Ben Bryant (percussion) –
showcasing his fleet-fingered skills on this mesmerising instrument,
creating a sound akin to Toumani Diabate meets Youssou N’Dour.
Mishka’s band, featuring Jon Scott (drums), Andrew Woolf (sax), Esben
Tjalve (piano) and Tom Farmer (bass), play a set of lyrical original
music and there will also be a collaboration between the artists to
look forward to.
