YEAH SPARROW (Brixton)
.is an exciting local work in progress that has transformed itself from dusty porch songs to a unit that pushes the envelope of Americana by stuffing it with soul, rock and freeform goodies.
They recently made their major festival debut at last month's Latitude and wooed the organisers so much they ended up playing four times throughout the weekend!

Pop meets trad folk via a voice and a cello.
Intense, edgy, light hearted, melodramatic and honest songs brought to life by unusual cello playing that veers between moving melancholy airs, punchy rock riffing and slap bass. Songs tell of love affairs, shipwrecks, imaginary worlds, (and cups of tea).
A recently arrived resident of south London, Laura has played many world/folk music festivals throughout Europe attracting attention for both her pop sensibilities and unique cello playing.
