UniTRUCK 2009 feat. STORNOWAY

Event information

When it's cold outside the organisers of the UK's smallest but coolest independent festival TRUCK like to retreat inside for the now annual Uni-TRUCK. Held at Bucks Student Union in High Wycombe this is an event not to be missed.

With two stages of great music as well as bunting, animals, and stalls expect all the magic of TRUCK but in the warm, dry and well appointed surroundings of a Student Union. Here's your chance to relive those heady university days and maybe try a snake bite (or not!). All the diversity of TRUCK but in one evening.

This year's event is headlined by Oxford's "painfully cool" STORNOWAY - last seen selling out the Sheldonian theatre and appearing on Later with Jools Holland. (alongside JZ, and Foo-fighters) ...oh yeah and of course the played TRUCK festival!

The other-side of the music coin (and the country) is inhabited by a band called PULLED APART BY HORSES – this Leeds 4-piece are currently touring with Biffy Clyro – but have found time to bring a disco rock hammering, accompanied by a large dose of hard riffing and yelping vocalities the likes of which High Wycombe has never seen before. Having played Reading & Leeds (oh, and naturally TRUCK) this year they are “surely the greatest live band in Britain” – not our words, but The Observer's.

They'll be supported by Talons, (whose post-math-rock-hardcore- will soothe and savage you in equal measure) Dry The River, (A sort of suburban Fleet Foxes meets a secular Surfjan Stevens) Oxford's upcoming stars Ute and local boys purveyors of dance-able rock The Book Club.

TRUCK's very own Robin Bennett will be appearing as well (and maybe some of his High Wycombe students too) – so lot's to look forward to.

As always Uni-TRUCK is free to all students of Bucks Uni – but for those who aren't lucky enough to be dodging taxes and real life responsibilities get your tickets now.
