"Chopped Liver & Unions" is a play that tells the story of Sara Wesker, a pioneering union activist who fought for workers' rights, particularly for women in the garment industry.
"Chopped Liver & Unions" is a theatrical production that highlights the life and struggles of Sara Wesker, a significant yet often overlooked figure in the labor movement of the early 20th century. The play combines music and narrative to depict Wesker's activism, particularly her role in leading the "singing strikers" of 1928, who protested for better working conditions and equal pay for women in the East End of London.
