THE ERROLLYN WALLEN SONG CLUB LAUNCH 2010
Thursday, February 18th, 8pm The Menagerie
The Green Carnation
5 Greek Street, London W1
>From Schubert to Stevie Wonder; Bessie Smith to Lily Allen. From a lullaby to a psalm; from a plainchant to a sea shanty - songs are at the centre of human expression. Words and music conjoined can transport us like nothing else to new realms of discovery, memory, self-expression and connection.
"In my own songwriting and indeed in all of my music, I see no barriers of style or genre. At the Errollyn Wallen Song Club we will celebrate all forms of songwriting and it is my avowed mission to unearth and bring together all those singer-songwriters (not necessarily professional musicians) with a secret stash.
"Amongst the first special guests unveiling new songs are Tom Dixon, world renowned designer and Mathew Tucker, television director of numerous South Bank shows. As well as my own performances of brand new songs and those from The Errollyn Wallen Songbook the audience, too, will be invited to contribute. Get writing!" --Errollyn Wallen
The next shows are Thursday March 11th and Thursday April 15th
