But don't take our word for it - 'Wabble wousing comedy' - Jonathan Woss

What better way to chase off those post-Christmas blues than by having a ruddy good laugh?!!

Following the success of 2009’s LOL Comedy Club, 2010 sees The Brook playing host to the monthly Thursday night comedy event, which showcases some of the finest comedy talent established in the UK as well as introducing some of the dynamic rising stars of these shores.

The 2010 Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club kicks off on Thursday 21st January and is proud to be hosting a veteran of Paramount’s The Comedy Store,

Lloyd Langford.

A prolific writer and performer, Lloyd Langford is proving himself to be a highly sought after act with his striking combination of natural wit undercut with a playful curiosity. Born in Wales but currently living in London, Langford's act is an ever-evolving mixture of personal anecdotes, memorable one-liners and topical material.

A regular performer at The Edinburgh Fringe, Lloyd has also appeared at Carling, Leeds and Reading Festivals and is a regular performer on various BBC Radio programmes. A writer as well as a performer, Lloyd has provided material for both television and radio shows including BBC Radio 4's The Now Show and The News Quiz and BBC TV’s Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

“One of the sharpest comedic minds on the circuit.” - The Guardian

His laidback, charming approach to comedy makes him instantly likeable.” - Time Out
"The new Prince Charming of comedy...Might well be the find of the year." - Paramount Comedy
“A born banterer, Langford handles swerve balls with ease.” - The Stage
"Some really fine gags…A lovely contrast of this very benevolent delivery with some quite edgy material." - The Observer
"The sharpest of comedy instincts and an innate grasp of timing and pace…Makes stand-up look deceptively simple." – Chortle

Also appearing is:

Andy Askins

A natural comedy performer who, although a relative newcomer to comedy, has spent the last 15 years traveling the world as a professional musician. Andy’s debut at The Comedy Store was an overwhelming success, and in an unprecedented move by the Store, he was immediately invited back to perform for full weekends and now performs regularly at The Comedy Store in both London and Manchester. Andy is a diminutive figure who exudes an air of vulnerability and an innocent child-like quality as he steps up to the microphone armed with a guitar and a cheeky grin. It's an overwhelmingly misleading demeanour that serves to heighten the impact of the killer lines that he delivers. Andy has an expertly crafted routine littered with an eclectic mix of offbeat comic songs and parodies. A talented musician with a captivating voice, popular songs have been re-written and given a perverse twist to tremendous comic effect. With a wickedly dry sense of humour, Andy's darker material is sweetened by his impish innocence, which never fails to leave audiences in the palm of his hand. With impeccable timing, the inventive and quirky songs are peppered with inspired patter - the material is as strong as the songs and delivered in an inimitable modest and self-deprecating style. His subject matter is wide ranging; from his many bizarre relationships: "Some of them with humans" to an unfortunate mix-up over a colostomy bag with a Columbian drug baron in Miami docks.

"Dark humour with faultless timing" - The Stage
"An awful lot of charm. Although he looks mild-mannered and studious, he actually packs a wry, cheeky wit. There is, most definitely, something warmly alluring about him. His winning persona goes a long way…between the songs, the charming banter works well." - Chortle
