Londoner Richard Smith was a child prodigy who, aged 11, played on stage with Chet Atkins, the late great godfather of fingerstyle guitar. He moved to the USA to the guitar hothouse of Nashville, and became USA National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion. Richard Smith is nothing less than a phenomenon, and his live shows are mind-blowing. You’ll wonder how one man and a guitar can sound as he does – sometimes he’s a whole marching band all on his own! Richard will be accompanied by his wife, the accomplished American cellist Julie Adams. Their ever changing repertoire includes a wide variety of instrumental and vocal music from Scott Joplin Rags, Sousa marches, Mozart, fiddle tunes, standards, Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed tunes, Django Reinhardt gypsy jazz, Bach, Beatles tunes, pop tunes, Chopin, originals, lightning fast barn-burners to beautiful ballads. This promises to be an outstanding evening of virtuoso musicianship. The combination of Julie's lyrical style and Richard's dazzling technique will melt your heartstrings, have your toes tapping and your jaws hanging open.
