Event information

The ACE Centre in association with Concept Comedy presents 4 stand up comedians – at a great price – on the first Friday of every month.

Host and compere for the evening is Alan Donegan making a welcome return:

Salford-born comic Alan Donegan has established himself as one of the finest and most versatile comperes on the North West comedy circuit. His amicably cheeky charm, brilliant banter and razor sharp wit is perfectly balanced with a natural ability to command the attention of the audience. Alan is currently building a cult following for his engaging persona, original insights and clever gags.

"One of Manchester's most dangerous comperes. Graham Norton meets Jim
McDonald!" - Jamie Sutherland, GLOBAL COMEDY

The opening act is Ben Schofield:

"Ben Schofield first performed as a comedian in 2001. Hailing from Bradford, he was, from an early age, to foster a keen sense of humour as a simple defence mechanism. His predilection for mirth-making thrives to this day, which, considering he still lives in Bradford, is just as well. He has several television appearances (including Stand Up Britain for ITV) already under the considerable girth of his belt, come and join him for his ride into the somewhat surreal world of Ben Schofield.

"Impressive…quality material delivered in an animated fashion…took the atmosphere in the place up a gear with a well-paced high energy set with some great punchlines…best act of the night…Ben Schofield rocks!" -

The middle act is Gordon Smith:

"A comic with a rather diffident approach who sneaks in under the crowds radar and then strikes them when they aren't expecting him too. He has a subtle way of hooking audiences from the word hello, with a mix of biting cerebral humour and sharp lines.

"Cracking lines... excellent material" - Chortle

The headline act is Kevin Dewsbury:

Kevin knew he was destined to be a stand-up comedian when at the age of just 8 months he fell ten feet down a stairwell and banged his head on a newspaper rack. Because of this people have been laughing at him ever since. As soon as he steps on stage the audience quickly realise they are in the company of a natural born performer. His material ranges from storytelling, observations on daily life and killer one liners. He is also faultless at mimicking accents. Due to his impeccable comic timing Kevin is guaranteed to leave crowds wanting more of his top-notch humour.

"Cracking Stand up, smashing, funky, lively, remarkable, individual and fresh" - Three Weeks"
