Woody Guthrie Folk Club 27th May 2010

The next Woody Guthrie Folk Club night is on Thursday 27th May.

The format is 2 songs per singer. We have space for 9 singers on the night and it’s first come first served. Anyone who sings/plays will get their £3 back.

Notes for singers:

It’s not a Woody covers night so all songs are welcome.

We do want more songs of humour, celebration, verve and struggle. That typifies Woody’s style and we want a club in Woody’s image, not just any old folk club, so please bring that type of song with you.

Also, to keep time fair between singers we are going to trial a six verse maximum on the songs. We reckon most stories can be told within six verses, so if you have a song that has a ton of verses, please edit it for us or pick a different song.
