Event information

Scottish multi-instrumentalist musician, singer, songwriter and storyteller Robin Williamson first made his name as a founder member of The Incredible String Band, who released some 13 albums, becoming one of the most popular, best-loved and influential groups of 60s Britain. He later founded the Merry Band, which he toured with during the 70s, and after its breakup, Williamson started to tour solo offering sets dominated by traditional stories set to song.

After briefly reforming the ISB in the late 90s, Williamson is again focusing on his solo career, notably on record with a series of albums for the prestigious ECM label. Musically, these records show him increasingly working in a fusion style (similar in some ways to the avant-garde work of the ISB in the 60s) which incorporates folk, jazz, Renaissance, classical and Eastern influences.
