Join us for a very special evening to celebrate the release of Six Days in Down / Sé la í n Dún a new, collaborative recording by US guitar giant, Bob Brozman and two of Ireland’s finest young traditional musicians, Dónal O’Connor (fiddle) and John McSherry (pipes & whistles).

Redefining musical diversity worldwide, Bob Brozman is a remarkably prolific artist whose wit, energy, and musical technique combine powerfully to create an unforgettable live performance. Dónal O’Connor has inherited a great musical legacy of at least five generations of fiddle playing. His musicianship has been described as “immaculate” “electrifying” and “…borne out of naked talent and consummate professionalism…” - The Irish Times. John Mc Sherry is hailed as one of the finest exponents of the art of Uilleann piping in the world today - "a true master" - Irish Music Magazine

The recording was made during an intense week of work in February 2008 at Down Arts Centre in Downpatrick. What was achieved in such a short space of time is a truly remarkable, creative and life affirming piece of work, which enhances traditions rather than compromising them.

Six Days in Down / Sé la í n Dún will be released by World Music Network by early Autumn 2010 and is supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, through the National Lottery.
