Essential listening for anyone into innovative, contemporary
jazz, The Moss Project is led by Berklee College of Music graduate Moss Freed (guitar) and features some of the UK's top players. Freed's eclectic range of influences ensure a diverse and entertaining set with heavy grooves, folk melodies, group improvisation and classical arrangements. They have recently completed a second European tour and their debut album, 'Vision', was released in November 2009 on Apsara Records.

Esben Tjalve's Red Kite

Modern jazz from Danish pianist Esben Tjalve, who leads his acclaimed band Red Kite with a number of hot London- based jazzers in its ranks, including Richard Turner (trumpet), James Allsopp (sax), Hannes Riepler (guitar), Nick Pini (bass) and Jon Scott (drums). Not everything is as it seems in this experimental melting pot of improvised noir music. Expect tune-led music with heavy grooves and spine-tingling turns of mood.
