Local favourite. Jim Crawford, returns with his own inimitable take on blues. folk & gospel music. Originally from Lancashire, Jim is a shy and retiring man who readily admits that recording studios fill him with dread and that he’d rather go fishing with his dog for company. He has, none the less, toured much of Europe and the U.S.A captivating audiences with his intimate blues style & fine fingerpicking. He first came to the attention of a wider blues audience when invited to record a session for the BBC’s Paul Jones Show. When quizzed by Paul about recent concert work we glimpsed the sense of humour that lights up Jim’s live shows when he wryly replied, “I've just played at the Appledore school fete where I was second in the popularity stakes to a bouncy castle!”
Jim’s profile as a songwriter had a sudden boost last year when Beth Rowley asked to cover his song ‘When the Rains Came’ on her most recent album. Jim finally appeared at Glastonbury this year, appearing on the blues stage with long-term collaborator Ian Briggs
