Zed-U pursue a hard-hitting, experimental breed of jazz in which elements of electronica, dub reggae and free improvisation feature prominently: Shabaka Hutchings (reeds); Neil Charles (electric bass + electronics) and Tom Skinner (drums and electronics).
Scandinavian ensemble Oddjob plough jazz-rock and alt-pop into unchartered territory. Their visceral musical energy combines with an unmistakable brutalised Nordic charm to incomparable effect.
