| P | Wednesday 27th October, 2010 |
| N | 6:30pm |
Meet at the southern end of London Bridge SE1, by the spike, for a riverside and Borough back-street tour of Southwark’s ghostly and magical past and folklore. Hear legends of London Bridge; see the sites of the wizard’s garrets, sacred shrines, husband abuse from beyond the grave, haunted hoof-beats and the sad, scary and silly ghosts of Bankside.
This walk is about an hour and also covers haunted pubs, Crossbones Graveyard, Austin Osman Spare, the legend of Mary Overy and an occult duel with an undead baker.
Meet for your bowler-hatted guide on the south eastern side of London Bridge by the giant Spike statue and Evans Bike Shop.
Scott Wood runs the South East London Folklore Society, is an expert walks guide and writer on London folklore and writes the regular Fortean London column on Londonist.
