Event information

Standing In The Shadows Of Lev & Humble Soul present an evening of Americana at the world famous Klondyke club, with all proceeds going to the wonderful AllFM Community Radio station.

BONE-BOX

Manchester’s finest 9 piece purveyors of dark mysterious gritty cinematic country music.
www.myspace.com/jaytaylor

"Bone-box, make music to drink whisky to, but are more likely to pick you up and put you back on your feet than allow wallowing in any hobo sorrows" (MANCHESTERMUSIC.CO.UK)

JO ROSE

One time lead singer of Manchester's Fear of Music, Jo's new solo project shows a new found love of all things Americana, proving in the process that you don't have to hide away all winter in a shack in Wisconsin to be able to write songs of longing, heartache and sheer beauty.

JAMES KELLY

James Kelly is one man plus classical guitar and bass drum pedal that crashed with critical acclaim onto the acoustic scene with his frenetic and much lauded rock and roll take on singer-songwriting.

THE LONESOME AND PENNILESS COWBOYS

Formed in the early 80s, amid a dystopia of awful music, bad haircuts and a general public dislike and disregard for country music, The Cowboys had one ambition. Their aim was to shine a light on the greats of country. They wanted to live in a world where the songs of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Gram Parsons et al were regarded as true genius. Now 3 decades on EVERYBODY loves a bit of country. Job done.

The Lonesome and Penniless Cowboys are now more or less retired playing only a handful of gigs a year. This will be a rare opportunity for you to see the band in all their ****kicking glory.

THE RANDOM FAMILY

Inspired by traditional folk music from both sides of the Atlantic, The Random Family utilise four part harmonies, acoustic guitars, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, tenor guitar, double bass, flute and clarinet to create their unique style and varieties of arrangement...
www.myspace.com/therandomfamily1

"The Random Family play gentle acoustic folk-pop, the relaxed approach underpinned by highly accomplished playing"

WALTON HESSE

Burst into being from the sunny imagination of songwriter Matt Grayson, Walton Hesse are a lapsed congregation of optimistic outcasts standing on the shoulders of Big Star and Wilco, peering into the shaft of a 13th Floor Elevator. Frontier facing and burdened by a twisted nostalgia this alt-country psych creation blend the melodious harmonies of Matt and Nicola Crosby haunted by the ghostly union of Gram and Emmylou to bring Arizona desert plains to the streets of Manchester.
