Midweek Missile presents.....
MELPOMENI
Melbourne exile ('no one wanted to experiment there') and now Londoner
Melpomeni, writes and performs elegantly twisted piano-led psychodramas heavy with love, despair and passion. Her secret box is filled with vengeful venom that will leave you feeling surprised that you want more.
Influences along this journey are Patti Smith, Scott Walker, Marianne Faithful, Arnold Schoenberg, Diamanda Galas and Friedrich Nietzsche.
Her voice, like a mouthful of honey dripping with broken glass, will inspire.
She won't just rub salt in your wounds though, she will finish you off with a squeeze of lemon and a lick of tequila - all with a knowing smile. 'One must have a dark sense of humour to deal with the urban filth that confronts us' she says.

CREATURES OF LOVE
"Creatures Of Love straddle three decades of music with a brand of indie dance that is as much 80s new wave as it is noughties electro. 'Book Thief' comes over like a Florence Welch a-capella being played over a 90s deep house track, while the bludgeoning synth of the self-titled 'Creatures Of Love' goes all slowed-down Late Of The Pier on us. 'So Low' is a misty-eyed reminiscence... of 6am Ibiza garage, before the electro riff of 'Who's Afraid' thrusts us back into the present. Finally leaving no musical stone unturned, 'Kick Down Our World' has everything from Portishead trip hop to chart-bound dance pop" - Fandango
OXFORD STYLE
"You are quite beautiful, like a convincing transsexual" sing jokers Oxford Style over their slightly angular, slightly shoegazy indie-pop. Marvellous fun." - Spoonfed.co.uk
